Rietschoten will also deliver braking and hydraulic systems for elevators of smaller buildings in the future.

Following the successful delivery of braking and hydraulic systems for the various high-performance elevators of ThyssenKrupp Elevator in the past few years—such as for the Freedom Tower in NYC or the Shanghai World Financial Center—the cooperation has continued to develop during the current year.

Up to now, the Rietschoten products have been needed for elevators in the world’s tallest buildings because common electrical brakes reach their physical limits in this situation.

The braking and hydraulic systems will also be deployed in the second-largest machine size by ThyssenKrupp Elevator in the future. The type approval testing was successfully passed in recent weeks, which means that elevators in smaller buildings will also be braked by Rietschoten in the near future.

This is another great success for Deutsche van Rietschoten & Houwens GmbH, which shows that the pioneering work in the field of industrial disc brakes for the German market has been worth the effort.
